Correction Through Connection

8-week virtual group for parents and caregivers of children in grades JK-12

Has anyone ever told you that your child is a “deeply feeling kid“, a “superfeeler”, or “ highly sensitive”?

Do your child’s intense emotions sometimes get the best of them, and at times, the best of you too?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Our virtual parent/caregiver group will teach you practical skills and concrete strategies that you can use right away to help you and your child navigate and manage intense emotions effectively.

The group will move through topics by providing psychoeducation followed by teaching practical skills and concrete strategies parents can use right away.

There will be opportunities for questions and discussions throughout with the aim of creating a supportive and judgment-free atmosphere.

This group will focus on a particular parenting technique called Emotion Coaching which uses these moments as teaching opportunities and guides them towards helpful and effective strategies to manage these intense emotions.

Throughout the group we will use neuroscience and the importance of connection to ground the learning strategies taught will be based in Polyvagal Theory, Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
