Family Therapy

Family therapy focuses on improving communication, understanding, and connection between family members. Every family faces challenges — whether related to life transitions, conflict, parenting differences, or a child’s emotional or behavioral concerns. Family therapy provides a safe and supportive space where each member’s perspective is heard, and where families can work together toward healthier ways of relating.

Our goal is to help each family better understand one another, manage stress and conflict more effectively, and create a more connected and resilient family environment.

At CAFCO, our clinicians help families:

  • Strengthen communication and problem-solving skills
  • Navigate conflicts or major life changes (e.g., separation, relocation, loss)
  • Support children or teens experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties
  • Develop consistent and effective parenting approaches
  • Foster empathy and mutual understanding between family members

Family therapy sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented. Therapists use evidence-based approaches such as Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Structural Family Therapy, and Systemic approaches to help families identify unhelpful patterns and build stronger, more supportive relationships.
