Practicum/Internship

CAFCO is a sought-after practicum and internship site in Ottawa. Over the years, we have welcomed many psychology, counselling, and social work students and interns, who have had the opportunity to learn alongside CAFCO’s experienced supervisors. We are proud to contribute to training the next generation of clinicians and to maintain strong, dynamic ties with students and universities.

Working at CAFCO

At CAFCO, you’ll be part of a team of kind, skilled colleagues within a culture of collaboration and evidence-based practice, all focused on providing the best support for our clients. CAFCO’s mission for its clinicians is twofold: fostering a sense of community and alleviating daily administrative burdens.

To support this mission, CAFCO offers regular presentations by guest speakers, peer reviews, clinical discussion groups, and annual meetings. These activities provide ongoing learning, training opportunities, and informal professional exchanges. Clinicians also have access to shared clinical resources and tools, including a library of psychometric materials and a toy library.

Our team works in a warm and welcoming facility, complete with a large room for group sessions, and is supported by a dedicated, efficient administrative staff. Over the past decade, CAFCO has built strong partnerships with community organizations, schools, and universities. We are also a sought-after psychology internship site, providing opportunities for clinical supervision and research involvement.
