Parenting in the Digital Age

Support and strategies for parents of children 11 and under

If you have ever found yourself wondering…

Do I need to worry about all screens? What is safe and what should I avoid?

Am I being too strict? How do I say no without constant battles?

… you are not alone.

Every parent is trying to find the right balance.

Many parents of young children hear the discussion about the mental health crisis among youth and worry about the future.

Luckily, we now know much more about how to prevent harm related to use of technology and promote healthy transitions to adolescence and adulthood amid these societal changes.

There is so much we can do to help the current generation of children thrive!

What this workshop is NOT about:

❌ Inciting fear through listing all the potential harms

❌ Focus on parental controls of devices (we do provide references to where you can get this technical support!)

❌ Any shaming or blaming of parenting or kids

What this workshop IS about:

✅ Getting inspired and excited about the changes that are very possible

✅ Highlighting the types of technology use that are healthy vs harmful for kids and teens.

✅ Learning therapeutic techniques to build connection in your relationship, so that your child can accept your leadership role around technology rules at home.

✅ Identifying ways that increased freedom, an adventurous childhood and more responsibilities for children actually make it easier for parents to set limits around technology use.

✅ Exploring the key strategy of building community and collective action with other parents.

Join us for a two part workshop that will support you to take steps to build resilience and connection within your family.

Included in the workshop: a handout for each session with key strategies and resources.
