Sommer is a third-year student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Ottawa. Prior to her studies at the University of Ottawa. She provides evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, and families under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Sommer’s approach to assessment is strengths-based with consideration to sociocultural context. She strives to obtain a holistic and comprehensive view of children, adolescents and families while doing so with empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility. Sommer aims to provide quality evaluations to promote both child and family well-being.
Sommer completed a M.Sc. in the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University. Sommer has clinical experience working at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Kanata Psychology, and the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services.
