Haniyyah is a third-year Psychology student at the University of Ottawa, completing an Honours B.A. in the French Immersion stream. She is passionate about mental health, child and youth support, and community well-being. With many years of experience mentoring children and youth, and nearly two years in a mentor role with uOttawa’s Outreach office, she has developed strong skills in guidance, active listening, and building supportive relationships with diverse communities. She deeply enjoys helping students navigate academic and personal transitions, as well as creating a welcoming environment for new learners. These experiences have strengthened her interest in pursuing a future career in psychology, where she hopes to continue fostering growth, connection, and well-being through counselling, cognitive neuroscience, or clinical practice. Haniyyah is excited to continue learning from professionals in the field and to support her community through compassionate, culturally informed care. Outside of academics and volunteering, she enjoys cooking, spending time with loved ones, and running her henna artistry business, where she connects with her community through creativity and cultural expression.
