Victoria Edwards is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Ottawa. She provides English language, evidence-based assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and families under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Her area of practice includes depression, trauma, anxiety, attention and behavioural difficulties, life transitions, and parenting challenges. Victoria is especially interested in the assessment and treatment of learning disorders, trauma, and helping families undergoing transition.
Victoria provides a warm, safe, and cooperative approach to assessment and treatment, using a trauma-informed, integrative approach. Elements of cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, and emotion-focused therapy are used to provide treatment that best fits the unique needs and strengths of each client.
Prior to working at CAFCO, Victoria has had training experiences working with children, adolescents, and families at the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services and Research, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Victoria is also actively involved in research and is currently studying the development of helping behaviours in infants at the University of Ottawa.
