Meggan Porteous, B.A.

PhD practicum student in Clinical Psychology

Meggan is a student in the Clinical Psychology M.A.-Ph.D. program at the University of Ottawa. She provides evidence-based psychological treatment services to children, adolescents and families in French and English, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Meggan has experience working with a diversity of clients as they face challenges related to emotion regulation, developmental trauma, mood, behavioural difficulties, parenting, and neurodevelopment (e.g., ADHD, learning disorders). She strives to provide her clients with a warm and collaborative environment. Meggan’s approach to therapy is strengths-based and focuses on clients’ individual needs, drawing from an evidence-based and integrative framework.

Prior to working at CAFCO, Meggan​ has had training experiences working with children, adolescents and families at the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services and Research, and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Meggan’s doctoral research aims to investigate the impact of sleep on mental well-being.
