Dr. Julia Ryan has extensive clinical and research training from a variety of school, hospital, and community settings in Ottawa, resulting in competencies in the domains of clinical and school psychology with youth. Dr. Ryan completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2019. She is currently also employed at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, and is completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Carleton University. Dr. Ryan’s school psychology and advanced research training is an asset to CAFCO.
Currently, Dr. Ryan provides a range of psychological services to children and adolescents. Using her clinical and school psychology training, Dr. Ryan provides comprehensive psychological assessments to clarify a child or youth’s needs, including psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic, and gifted assessments.
Dr. Ryan also provides psychotherapy in the areas of anxiety and depression primarily, utilizing a combined approach of evidence-based theories (CBT, DBT, emotion-focused, strength-based) with a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining a supportive connection with clients
