Julia Maiorino has a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University. Much of her experience comes from working in mental health at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
It is her goal to provide her clients with a warm, nonjudgmental and honest environment where they can feel most comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions and troubles. She has a passion for working individually with adolescents and adults as they develop the courage to explore their vulnerabilities on their journey towards wellness and fulfilment. Her experience has allowed her to develop skills in working with depression, anxiety, grief, issues related to sexuality, emotional regulation, social fears and phobias, self-esteem and suicidal ideation.
She also has much experience working in spiritual and cultural care with the indigenous community and with the LGBTQ community. Julia does not underestimate the power of trust in the therapeutic relationship and utilizes Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in her practice.
